Armed with years of performing arts technical skills learned through light / sound design and tech positions, as well as Technical Director positions, Austin offers a dependable, hardworking, and creative backdrop and atmosphere for any performing arts event.

Austin is most at home at the Hamilton Performing Arts Center in Hamilton, Montana, and can be requested as the technician of choice when discussing contracts with the Performing Arts Center. He is also familiar with lighting and sound systems at the Hamilton Play House.

He is more than willing to work as a Technician, in a design position, or Technical Directing position. Technical Directing will often incorporate working the lighting system or sound, the coordination of the two systems and their technicians, as well as other visual, mechanical, safety, and auditory elements of a production.

He has done light design for well over two dozen performances, large and small, ranging from concerts to off-Broadway musicals. Austin has also done extensive setup of sound equipment at theses same events, often working both systems, overseeing or training other technicians.

Depending upon the scale of the performance, other technicians may be required. In this instance, Austin will recommend technicians he knows and trusts to do the job well with little instruction. The Hamilton Performing Arts Center can also recommend technicians. Training of non-technicians is usually not recommended. Any person who will run the main sound or lighting systems must have experience with these tasks, in some capacity.

Hourly rates are $12-$25, and no charge is made for initial planning meetings.
